About Karen Lile Tango
Argentine Tango, born in the late 1880's in Buenos Aires, is currently danced in almost every country in the world. This website is for people new to Tango as well as for my friends and collegues here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I will be adding articles of interest to these pages.
About Karen Lile
I began dancing Argentine Tango in 1995 when the community was relatively small. Today, the San Francisco Bay Area Tango community has grown and there are now multiple classes, workshops and milongas every day of the week. People from all around the world come here for special events and the San Francisco Bay area is well known for its diversity and friendliness. I feel privileged to be a part of this community. I also enjoy traveling to Buenos Aires and other places to participate in tango festivals, where tango teachers and dancers gather and share their love of the dance and learn from each other.
Professionally, I am a dance instructor in the ballroom dance community where I teach with my business and ballroom dance partner, Michael Arntz. I also co-created the ballroom dance Foxtantino with Ted Ross, which is a fushion of Foxtrot and Argentine Tango.
After work, I dance Tango.
